PNRC offers summer safety institute

SIQUIJOR, May 12 (PIA) -- The Philippine National Red Cross-Siquijor sub-chapter recently conducted a summer saftety institute that offers training courses on Basic Swimming Lessons, First Aid Training, Basic Water Safety & Rescue and Basic Life Support.
There were eight participants from the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP)-Larena that attended the training on first aid, basic water safety and rescue and basic life support at the Red Cross Office in Siquijor town.
The 15-day swimming training was held at the Capilay Spring Park in San Juan town with trainor Stephen Fuentes and Aldrin Elum from Bacolod City.
The summer safety institute program was purposely conducted by the Red Cross as an advance practice to all participants for the coming competition of the Red Cross members from various chapters to be held at Silliman University in August, says PNRC-Siquijor officer-in-charge Rowena Maputi.
