Siquijor LGU renders free public service‘In joint celeb of 112th Philippine Civil Service and 41st Araw ng Siquijor anniversary’

SIQUIJOR, Sept 13 (PIA) -- The provincial government of Siquijor is rendering free services to the public in a joint celebration of the 112th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary and 41st Araw Ng Siquijor.
This program is implemented in coordination with the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) and two other national agencies, the Philippine Health Insurance Program (PhilHealth) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
Free blood sugar testing will be offered at the provincial hospital tomorrow, September 14 along with the online issuance of Members’ Data Record (MDR) by PhilHealth and pre-retirement seminar by the GSIS.
The MDR issuance is in compliance with the department’s thrust to inform, guide all employee members of the national health insurance program (NHIP) of their privileges and responsibilities.
It is a system generated document issued by Philhealth as a primary attachment to hospital claim application to lessen the incidence of doubtful claims and to reduce returned claims.
Likewise, to familiarize local government units future retirees on government retirement plans, benefits and opportunities, GSIS is inviting all government members who are 10 years or less away from retirement to attend this forum to be clarified on how best to navigate the retirement transition. Province lines up activities for Araw ng Siquijor 41st anniversary

SIQUIJOR, Sept 13 (PIA) -- The province of Siquijor has lined-up a series of activities to celebrate its "41st Araw ng Siquijor" anniversary.
The opening of sports activities was held on September 5 at Enrique Villanueva town.
Today, September 13, is the opening of Trade, Agro and Food Fair at the Capitol grounds at 3 p.m. and on September 14 is the Batid Siquijodnon, Talent Search at the Capitol Mini Park.
On September 15 at 8 a.m. is the pumpboat racing and beach volleyball competition will be held at Salagdoong beach resort, swimming competition at San Juan swimming pool and the Bakbakan sa Siquijor Day (Boxing) at the Capitol Mini Park at 8 p.m.
Cycling competition is on September 16 at 7 a.m. with the starting Point at Capitol, Siquijor while Miss Siquijor Tourism Night will be held at Capitol Mini Park at 8 p.m.
On the Araw ng Siquijor, September 17, there will be a Concelebrated Mass at the Capitol Mini Park at 8:30 a.m. to be followed by a parade.
Thanksgiving, awards and recognition program is scheduled in the afternoon with Rep. Lanie Mercado as the keynote speaker.
At 2 p.m., there will be a Comparza Competition and Solili Competition and at 4 p.m. is the Festival of Festivals Showdown, all of which will take place at the Capitol Mini Park.
There will be a live band every night, from September 13 and 17 to grace the whole occasion.

Siquijor Trade, Agro, Food Fair opens today

SIQUIJOR, Sept 13 (PIA) -- Siquijor province opens the five-day Trade, Agro and Food Fair today to highlight its 41st anniversary as a province.
The event showcases the province’s industries, resources and craftsmanship.
Products in focus are home furnishings such as furniture, novelty items, gifts and housewares, woodcraft, quilted textile items and paintings; processed food such as peanut products, banana chips, processed meat, dairy products and bakery products; and ornamental plants, agricultural products, and food fiesta.
The activity will run from September 13 to 17 and is spearheaded by the Provincial Government in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and the Siquijor Hotel, Resorts and Restaurants Association (Shorretas).
Opening ceremonies will be held at 3 p.m. at the Provincial Capaitol Grounds, Pulangyuta, Siquijor, Siquijor. (RMN/RAC-PIA7 Siquijor)
