DOST Siquijor conducts training on energy management

SIQUIJOR, Jan. 8 (PIA) --The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Siquijor conducted a two-day training on “Sustainable Energy Management and Assessment /Identification of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) or Energy Management Opportunities (EMOs)” recently.

The training, according to provincial director Mario E. de la Pena, is aimed at providing basic concepts , effective tools for evaluation and to understand the methodologies of energy management system. 

Participants are also expected to learn the actual assessment as well as to know the presentation and preparation of energy management opportunities/energy management conservation measures. 

Topics discussed are concepts of sustainable energy management; energy management opportunities/energy conservation measures on lighting system and air conditioning systems and electric motor fundamentals. 

Hands-on assessment of energy management opportunities/energy conservation measures and actual presentation of sustainable energy management program were also done. 

Participants are representatives of the six local government units, different establishments and institutions provincewide. 

Speakers are members from the regional Energy Audit Team headed by the assistant regional director, Engr. Edilberto L. Paradela with Engr. Roberto B. Edna, Engr. Juan Edgar Osorio and Vivien Cabando. (mbcn/RACalibo/PIA-Siquijor)
