TESDA-Siquijor holds consultation on skills dev't plans

SIQUIJOR, Aug. 2 (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)  in Siquijor recently conducted a consultation on the National  and Provincial Technical Education and Skills Development (N/PTESD) Plans 2011-2016 at Siquijor State College Cafeteria, Larena, Siquijor.

TESDA_Siquijor officer-in-charge Engr. Samuel A. Jordan said the consultation was made to gather inputs from various stakeholders for the enhancement and refinement of the two plans to make them relevant and supportive of the province.


The plans, he said are in line with the TESDA mandate stated in RA 7796 otherwise known as the TESDA Law of 1994.


It also supports the 16 agenda of President Benigno S. Aquino III and the Real Deal Paradigm of TESDA Director General, Sec. Emmanuel Joel J. Villanueva on Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).


Different national agencies, provincial government, schools and training institutions, non-government organizations, owners/managers of industries in from different sectors and other TVET stakeholders attended the consultation.


Supervising TESD Specialist Dina V. Esmas represented the TESDA Regional office during the consultation. (PIA-Siquijor/mbcn/rac)
