SIQUIJOR, September 28 (PIA)—Following the civil servants’ renewal of commitment on September 2, this year, the Siquijor Council of Administrative and Personnel Officers (SICAPO) conducted an outreach program at the Integrated Provincial Hospital to highlight the province’s celebration of 111th Philippine Civil Service anniversary this month.

Some 30 patients, young and old alike, enjoy the food packages consisting of fresh fruits, various packed and canned goods given by the SICAPO members on September 15.

The two activities (renewal of commitment and outreach program) were also part of the province’s celebration of its 40th charter anniversary.

Observing the theme “Championing R.A.C.E.: Public Service Excellence at Full Speed, the activities were spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission, Siquijor Field Office headed by CSC Field Director Merlinda Flores-Quillano.

President Benigno S. Aquino III, in his message for the celebration, stressed his call for reform and his pledge to implement change in government as he urges civil servants nationwide to respond to the call for change and “be servant-heroes (lingkod bayani) by joining CSC in building a responsive, accessible, courteous and effective public service or R.A.C.E.”

“We are here to be Champions in the R.A.C.E. to Serve, and this year, we should prove that Public Service Excellence is at its Best,” the President said.

“ipagmalaki nati ang kahusayan, kagalingan at kabayanihan ng bawat lingcod bayani sa ating paligid,” he also said. (PIA-Siquijor/RAC)
