TESDA Siquijor/LNAS joins tree planting in celebration of Coop month
LAZI, Siquijor, Oct. 10 (PIA) -- In celebration of the Cooperative Month in October, the Technical Education and Skills Development Aunthority province of Siquijor and Lazi National Agricultural School joined the provincewide Tree Planting Activity organized by the Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PDC) here.
The tree planting served as the National Cooperative month’s opening activity in line with the Greening Program of the government.
Provincial Cooperative Development Council Chair Rev. Fr. Susano Arbas and Cooperative Development Specialist Jeysel Roble in their letters sent to different primary cooperatives, national government agencies, and local government unit who are dealing with cooperatives, called on their participation to the tree planting activity at Parian, Enrique Villanueva, Siquior.
Responding to the call, the TESDA family actively submitted themselves to join the activity that was held in the morning of October 1.
The group brought potted Mahogany seedlings and water containers as they went up the hills going to the planting site. TESDA personnel planted31 seedlings.
TESDA/LNAS Information officer Elsa A. Apiag said that despite the scourging heat of the sun and the distance of the planting site, the participants were happy that they could contribute to the greening efforts.
