CSC promotes distance learning

LARENA, Siquijor, March 1 (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) here is encouraging government personnel with limited training budget and even youths who are at least 18 years old who plan to join the government service, to avail of its distance learning program (DLP).

The CSC, in its press release, said the DLP will confer on its taker a certificate of training equivalent to 40 training hours (equivalent to a five-day seminar) without having to leave their respective work stations, schools, or homes, at a minimal fee of P250.

The DLP is designed for government officials and employees as an alternative strategy to the formal training programs for those who want to attend trainings but for one reason or another could not because of their work or due to limited funds, said the CSC.

This learning package allows takers to study the DLP modules at their own place and pace for only a minimal fee, the CSC added.

The module title is "Rules of Conduct and Ethical Behavior in the Civil Service" based on Republic Act No. 6713 otherwise known as the "Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

It provides the learner a brief overview of the eight norms of conduct for government officials and employees and enumerates the appropriate conduct of business transactions in the public sector.

To get a copy of the module, visit the CSC Field Office at the Old Capitol Building, Larena, Siquijor. (mbcn/RAC/PIA-Siquijor & CSC)
