San Juan, Siquijor updates local revenue code
SAN JUAN, March 28 (PIA)--The local government unit of San Juan in Siquijor province recently updated its Local Revenue Code to augment its local income and render better services to its people.
Information Officer Jacinto Maata said the revised code is contained in Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 2011-071 and Ordinance No. 211-014 that took effect in January this year.
Based on records, the last time the Code was revised was in 2004, said Maata.
The revised code, he said, shall govern the levy, assessment, and collection of taxes, fees and charges and other impositions within the territorial jurisdiction of the town.
The Code includes general provisions, municipal taxes, permit and other regulatory fees, service fees, municipal charges and general administrative and penal provisions and final provisions.
San Juan town is a fifth class municipality and known to be the tourism capital of the province. (rmn/pia-siquijor/rac)
