DTI, Siquijor hold product dev’t program for tourism stakeholders

SIQUIJOR, Jan 30 (PIA) --The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), with the Siquijor Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (SCCII) conducted a Product Development Program for tourism stakeholders in the province Wednesday, January 30 to 31.

The project aims to make use of what is innate in the residents of Siquijor and what the island is all about, said Nimfa Virtucio, DTI-Siquijor provincial director.

It also aims to develop more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) producing crafts and other non-food pasalubong items in support of Tourism which is the One Town One Product (OTOP) of the province, Virtucio said.

She said a designer from Manila will conduct the training on Basic Photography on January 30 and Design Trends and Visual Merchandising on January 31.

The activity will be held at the QuickSilver Building in Poblacion, Siquijor, Siquijor. (mbcn/RAC-PIA 7, Siquijor)
