DILG conducts ADB survey on Siquijor local gov’t capacity
SIQUIJOR, April 3 (PIA) -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recently conducted a Survey on Local Government Capacity in Project Management in three local government units (LGUs) in the province.
The survey was conducted in the towns of Siquijor and Larena, and the provincial government of Siquijor.
The survey collected data from the local governments on their capacity constraints and other factors that affect their project management at the local level, said DILG-Siquijor officer-in-charge Kenneth Kilat.
It specifically targeted the administrators, planning and development officers, treasurers, accountants, budget officers, provincial and municipal welfare and development officers, agriculturists, environment officers, engineers, health officers and general services officers.
The survey is conducted by the Philippine government with the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) as the executing agency and the DILG and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as partners.
Results of the survey would help in the review of policies related to the LGU's program and project implementation and in identifying actions to improve their capacities in the area, Kilat added. (RMN/RAC-PIA7 Siquijor)
